Adoption Update & Raffleaway

***ADOPTION UPDATE***

Earlier this week we had a conference call with our agency. Things are moving along, slowly, but at least moving. Our home study was finally approved by our agency and as of June 4th was sent to immigration for processing. Now we wait for confirmation that they have received our application and wait for our fingerprint appointment. This step of the process is taking about two months. So, we are praying and hoping to have our fingerprints and immigrations approval back by early August so we can be DTC (Dossier to China) by sometime in August. According to our agency, IF we are DTC in August, we will more than likely not travel until after the first of the year. As much as I would love to have Drew home for Christmas, financially it will be in our favor to wait until after the first of the year so we can possibly use our tax return to help with the funds.

Tomorrow and Saturday we are having our first adoption fundraiser. For the past couple of weeks we have been working on getting a garage sale together. Our Church was kind enough to allow us to put an announcement in the bulletin and we have been blessed with many donations from friends, family, and complete strangers. We have tons of stuff and are even having a raffle for a new Vera Bradley bag that my neighbor graciously donated (thanks Lydia).

Speaking of Vera Bradley, I am also going to give my bloggy friends the chance to win this beautiful Vera Bradley bag. This is the Sherbert pattern and is for the Satchel duffel bag. The colors on this are so bright and summery. There are also several pockets on the inside to extra storage. This is a great bag for those summer trips to the lake, or a weekend getaway. At the top of my sidebar you will notice a rd Chip in button. All you have to do is click on that to make a donation. It is safe and secure. I myself have made many donations using Chip In and have not had any problems. Here's how the raffle is going to work. Each $5.00 donation will enter you for a chance to win this beautiful bag. To be fair to our garage sale patrons who enter the raffle, it will end at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday June 13. The winner will be chosen on Saturday evening and will be contacted through e-mail or by phone right away. The bag will be shipped priority mail right to your house. Thank you in advance for helping us to bring one more China blessing home.

Hey!

I'll be praying for a good turn out for your garage sale and that Matt's work picks up. YOU are headed to China and the money will be there!! I really hope we're traveling at the same time so we can meet up!!

Hugs and love,
Amy

Oh, Mandi, I'm right with you in our time frames. Our home study was *finally* finalized on the 8th. I just mailed the copies to our agency in CO and they should be there Monday. Just like you, IF our dossier is in...travel next year.....
It's disappointing, but on the bright side, we will need our tax return too...and maybe, just maybe we would be able to bring Olivia & Mason. Olivia wants to go so badly, and it would be good for her to go. I think it would be life changing. God is bigger than all of these immigration papers, fingerprints and supposed dates. With that, we can rest easy.
