Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for knowing that although the wait is long and hard on us, Drew is in a wonderful, loving, caring, Christian environment. We are so close to having our dossier done and sent to China. We just have a few more hurdles to jump over and then it is off. From the time our dossier goes to China it will probably be 4-6 monts before we travel. I am not expecting to travel until at least February, but hoping and praying it is sooner. As long as we get there before Drew turns 4 (March11), I will be one happy mommy.

Below is the monthly update we get from Drew's foster family along with a picture. ENJOY!!!

Drew (Jeremy) is 3 Years 5 Months Old.

Drew’s foster mom wrote this update:

One morning, Drew got up early and said to me, "Mama, I am going on a bus today. We are going to swim in Beijing.” After finding his toothbrush, he brushed his teeth and washed his face. Then he ate breakfast and put on clean clothes. I took him to the foster home, and he sang children's songs the entire way. When I came to pick him up in the afternoon, he was so excited! He said, “Mom, I’ve returned from swimming. I am so strong that tomorrow I will carry you."

If you ever have any questions, please let us know. Thank you for your continued support.

Blessings,

New Day Staff

Right there with you, my friend. It's possible we could be traveling around the same time. It just depends, I guess. Our heart's desire is to travel by Christmas, but we KNOW that it isn't likely based on the 'typical' timeframe... yet we also KNOW our God is able to work things out, should that be His perfect timing...so we are trusting in Him. But it's great to know our kiddos are in such wonderful care until we can bring them home.

Have a blessed weekend!! <><

Mandi, we too are looking to travle in the same time frame. We would have loved to travel by the New Year, but the chances of that are looking slimmer all the time. I know God has everyone best intrest in mind for when we travel. How is it you get monthly updates on your little guy?

Thank you so much for sharing Elsa's story with all of your blog-followers. After reading today's post from her mom my heart is so heavy. I will pray for her and that not only that her cancer be removed but even more that she will "return" to her family long before that. To have her not responding and so detached ... oh how hard! It brings tears to my eyes thinking of how as a mom we want so much to be able to soothe, calm, nurture, heal ... that becomes so much harder when there is no response fro your sweet little one. May God give them continued strength beyond human comprehension!

On a lighter note. Do you plan to do a quilt for Drew like Tanya is doing for Khloe? Just curious as I am planning a page for Khloe's quilt journal and of course I have lots of cool boy print materials.

What a fun update you got - such a wonderful gift that your son is not only being well cared for and loved until he meets his family, but you get to receive those great updates.
