URGENT ~ Please Read

UPDATE: Praise God, this little girl's family has found her and they sent in their LOI as of Saturday. God is SO good!

As for all the Anonymous comments, I apologize if I hit a nerve with all of you, all I was trying to do was advocate for a little girl who's time for a family was running out. I was not in any way trying to be negative towards the previous family. My only intention was to help a little girl find the family that she deserves.

As I posted previously, I do not understand disruption and I pray for those who have been down that road. At the end of the day the most important thing is that there will be one less child without a family and because of that, I am overjoyed.

Today was the day I was going to finally post an update on Drew and Jaxon but there is a more important matter at hand that needs addressed.

Like most adoptive parents I belong to several Yahoo groups. I will admit sometimes I just scan through the posts and delete, but last night, last night there was No deleting.

I am positive some of you (if not most of you) have already seen and heard about this little girl. She is being advocating for on RQ, blogs, and several Yahoo groups. She is a 7 year old girl that is literally on her very last chance at a family. She had a family, in fact, they were just in China to get her when within 24 hours they disrupted. Disruption is something I just don't understand, but that is a topic for another day.

Anyway, this beautiful little girl is 7 and has a smile that goes from ear to ear. Her only Sn is Microtia (an ear deformity). It has been confirmed that this is her ONLY issue. She is perfectly healthy in every other way. If a family does not come forward before SUNDAY, her file will be sent back and she will more than likely never have the chance to have a family of her own again.

I cannot look at this little girl's picture without crying and literally feeling sick to my stomach. She deserves a chance. She deserves more than living the next several years in an orphanage. She deserves more. She deserves hope, love, security. She DESERVES a family.

I SO wish we were in a position to step up and say "YES." Unfortunately, we just can't right now. This little girl's face kept me awake for most of the night. I awakened this morning with a ball in my stomach the size of a basketball. I just can't help thinking about her and the hand she has been dealt at only 7 years old.

PLEASE, PLEASE will you look deep inside your heart and soul to see if this is your daughter? She DESERVES more.

While waiting for our travels to China I had a collection of blogs from other waiting families that I checked weekly and sometimes daily to see what's happening. I have been following this family and your post floored me! This is the third family I have followed in a weeks time that has disrupted! My heart breaks for these children. I would bring them all home in a heartbeat if....

We must be careful not to judge why someone chooses disruption. I know first hand it is not an easy thing to do and most likely done in the best interest of the child. Would you be willing to take a child that smears their poop all over the walls, punches holes in the wall, puts your own children at risk? Would you be willing to adopt a child that you have to keep locked in their bedroom at night for the safety of others? I am not saying this is the reason the family chose to disrupt I do not know their situation but I do know disruption. The girl is obviously a beautiful girl and for a family to walk away from her tells me that there may be some serious underlying mental or behavioral issues with this child. Just because it is not documented doesn't mean its not there. I pray this child does find a forever family but I am afraid there may be more to it. I wish I knew more about this family and their reason. It would help in trying to find a family for her.

I agree with the above commenter that we shouldn't judge people who disrupt. No one knows what underlying issues there are/were with this child, and no one knows this family and their reasons. Judge not lest ye be judged. If the family knew they couldn't handle whatever issues they saw, then they did the responsible thing.

PLEASE do not advocate for this child with words suggesting/confirming that you know that her ear deformity is her only SN! How can you say that? Do you hold yourself responsible for this information for the next family who travels all the way to China based on this assumption? Have you spoken to the family who disrupted?

To the posters above, the family who disrupted this child went to China last fall and disrupted with another child. That says to me that in THIS case, it probably isn't some underlying problem with the child. There's some problem with that family. Is it possible someone had that much bad luck? Yeah. Is it likely? No.

I think the message "annonymous" was tryin to get across is not to judge- not the parents, not the posters, not anyone who disrupts. I heard the child has many families intersted in her. I pray she finds the perfect family for her. I pray for the family who for what ever reason could not go through with it. Disruption is devistating for all involved. I work with families who have experienced disruption and I would really like to reach out to this family. If anyone would like to leave their blog address or a way ot contact them it would be greatly appreciated. No one is perfect in this world and each and everyone of us have made mistakes. I ask you all to have a heart of forgivness and love for those you do not understand. God Bless.
