In Detroit

Well, we have finally began the last leg of our journey to bring our boys home. we are sitting in the Detroit Airport waiting for our flight (we have a 7 hour layover). Matt and I went to bed last night at 3:45 a.m. and had to get up at 5. So, we are literally running on adrenaline at this point.

From here we fly 13 hours to Narito, Japan and will have a 3 hour layover. Then, we finally board our last plane to Beijing (which is 4 hours). We don't arrive in Beijing until 10:30 p.m. on Thursday and will not arrive at New Day until closer to 1 in the morning. Hopefully we will be able to sleep on the plane.

Thank you again to those of you who have helped to get us to this point. We are so excited and cannot wait to meet our boys. Please continue to pray not only for us, but that both Drew and Jaxon are prepared for numerous changes they are about to endure.

Next post will be from Beijing!!!!!

I just saw your blog posting on RQ - good luck! We adopted our son in 2007 and he was at New Day, it's a great place. I read your story of how you knew Drew was your son, and that is what our journey to our Jacob was like. Have peace (and try to get some sleep on all of those flights!)

I know you said that you would be traveling this week ... but I've been so busy that it has flown by! And now I can't believe you are actually on a plane (or at least at the airport waiting for that plane!) I am SO excited for you guys and your family! WOW! We send our prayers for a very fun and positive trip. And we can't wait to read about your first days as a family and also when you return home and meld together through the in's and out's of being a family growing toward God. Sending a BIG hug and many prayers.
Blessings!

Matt and Mandi,
I am so excited to see that you are on your way. It's hard to believe that those two boys are going to finally be in your arms in just a few days! Yeah! We can't wait to read about all your adventures while you are gone.
Blessings,
Kelli
